Christina Lake Arts and Artisans Society manages a 400 sq feet art space located in the Christina Lake Welcome Centre . We serve our community through exhibitions, workshops, music events and community projects. We welcome artists in residency for 1-3 weeks periods of time to take time to create and engage with our community. The space offers artists the opportunity to use the gallery space as a working studio and exhibition space.
The residency is an opportunity to do research , exhibition development or use it as a place to develop community art practices through workshop development.
The space is most suitable for non toxic art practices such as painting, collage, printmaking, installation, assemblage, photography, performance, written and spoken words, small sculptures that use small amounts of clay, wood and biodegradable materials.
What we offer artists:
Use the space for a solo or group exhibitions at no cost.
Use part of the gallery as an art studio for the duration of the art residency
We organize / promote and finance a community night
A small stipend for community workshop materials ( if you plan to run a community workshop).
Liaisons with the community key stakeholders that can help develop the artist connections to community.
Gallery support with exhibition installation
Promotional materials and opportunities to work in land art or nature inspired projects.
Beautiful surroundings and waterways that offer endless inspiration to artists.
We offer letters of support for artists grant applications.

Nature focused, community and experimental driven artists seeking to develop their art practice in a small community that values our natural spaces.
Self driven artists with an ability to adapt and problem solve.
Artists with a body of work ready for exhibition ideally experience exhibiting.
Artists that value engaging and potentially working with a variety of members of our community from seniors, children and adults
Artists interested in exploring themes of nature, agriculture, community connection and water in their art.
Artists ready to secure their own art funding and finance their own accommodations, travel and sustenance expenses.
